GCP Database Administrator (San Miguel de Tucumán)

We're hiring at Wiset: Senior Database Administrator (GCP) We're looking for an experienced DBA to join our Data Engineering team and take ownership of our database infrastructure on Google Cloud Platform. If you live and breathe Cloud SQL, Spanner, and Firestore — and you treat Terraform like a second language — we want to talk to you. English: C1-B2 About the Role This is a hands‑on, senior position strictly focused on managing, scaling, and optimizing GCP‑native database infrastructure. You'll be the go‑to expert helping engineering teams choose the right database for the job — and making sure it runs reliably at scale. What You'll Do

- Database Management — Provision, configure, and manage GCP databases (Cloud SQL/PostgreSQL, Cloud Spanner, Firestore).
- Infrastructure as Code — Automate deployments, updates, and scaling with Terraform.
- Architecture & Advisory — Partner with engineering teams during design to recommend the right database technology (relational, NoSQL, or distributed SQL).
- Query Optimization — Analyze execution plans, identify bottlenecks, and tune complex queries side‑by‑side with developers.
- Reliability & High Availability — Design backup, restore, and DR strategies. Ensure multi‑region resilience (especially for Spanner).
- Security & Compliance — Enforce best practices across IAM, encryption (at rest and in transit), and access auditing. What You Bring

- Proven DBA experience in production environments
- Strong hands‑on expertise with GCP databases: Cloud SQL (replication, maintenance windows, failover) Cloud Spanner (distributed SQL, schema design, node scaling) Firestore (document model, collections, read/write optimization)
- Extensive Terraform experience for database infrastructure
- Deep SQL and query tuning skills across engines
- Strong scripting in Python and Bash
- Solid grasp of cloud database networking (VPCs, private IPs, Cloud SQL Auth Proxy) Nice to Haves

- Experience with Big Query, Cloud Bigtable, or AlloyDB
