Job Description Summary The I&C Specialist is responsible for the diagnosis, installation, and repair of I&C systems and components, whether these activities are planned or unplanned, on the equipment included in the scope of the O&M contract.
Qualifications The Instrumentation and Control (I&C) Technical specialist must possess the necessary knowledge to perform interventions on the various I&C equipment of a thermal power plant.
Power generation and support equipment includes gas turbines, steam turbines, diesel engines, generators, triple‐pressure heat recovery steam generators, air compressors, motors, pumps, piping (air, water, steam), and valves.
Responsibilities Execute I&C‐related maintenance activities according to the work plan provided by the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
Contribute to the reduction of maintenance costs through the efficient use of consumables, parts, and tools, and prevent their loss or damage.
Diagnose the cause of instrument failures or malfunctions and communicate findings to all stakeholders.
Diagnose, test, repair, or replace defective instrumentation components.
Test faulty equipment and apply knowledge of the operation of mechanical units and systems to diagnose the cause of failure.
Calibrate and adjust equipment according to specifications.
Maintain records of repairs, calibrations, and tests performed, and record maintenance actions on work orders.
Repair actuators as needed for proper system operation and mechanical isolation.
Identify the necessary spare parts for the various plant systems and submit purchase requisitions in the MAXIMO system.
Read and understand system technical manuals and piping and instrumentation diagrams.
Perform preventive and corrective maintenance according to the procedures in the technical manual.
Prepare legible and understandable work orders for required preventive and corrective maintenance.
Read, understand, and comply with all plant safety procedures and regulations.
Collaborate with external contractors on various investment projects.
Maintain effective communication with employees at all levels of the organization.
