Senior Java Software Engineer - Healthcare (Quilmes)

We are looking for a Senior Java Software Engineer with strong experience in FHIR to join a fast-growing US-based health tech company. This is a hybrid position based in Buenos Aires , with 2 in-office days per week (Tuesdays and Thursdays in Puerto Madero). This role is adecuado for someone passionate about transforming the healthcare industry through scalable, high-impact software. What you'll do: Design, develop, and maintain high-quality Java-based applications and systems Lead and participate in the full software development lifecycle (SDLC) Translate complex business requirements into scalable technical solutions Mentor junior engineers and perform code reviews Work collaboratively with cross-functional and geographically distributed teams Continuously improve system performance, reliability, and scalability What we're looking for: 6+ years of experience in Java software development Proven experience with FHIR (Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources) is a plus, but not required. Proficiency with Spring Framework, Maven, and OOP principles Experience with NoSQL databases, especially MongoDB Strong understanding of software design patterns and best practices Hands-on experience with version control (Git) and CI/CD pipelines Advanced English (both spoken and written) Willingness to work hybrid : 2 days on-site in Puerto Madero, Buenos Aires Nice to have: Experience with HL7, CDA, IHE standards Background in healthcare systems or digital health platforms Experience with microservices architecture, Docker, Kubernetes Familiarity with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP Contributions to open-source projects or active tech communities Location & Schedule: Hybrid: 2 on-site days per week in Puerto Madero, Buenos Aires Full-time, long-term role.
