OverviewPacific International Lines (PIL) is a general shipping company with over 55 years of experience. We seek an experienced Accountant based in Buenos Aires, Argentina to manage financial reporting, compliance, and taxation for the country in alignment with local and group standards. Responsibilities
- Ensure the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of financial reporting and accounting activities for Argentina.
- Maintain statutory accounting books and electronic ledgers required by National Customs and Super Sociedades.
- Lead month‑end, quarter‑end, and year‑end closing in accordance with local GAAP (NCIF).
- Ensure full accuracy, integrity and regulatory compliance of accounting, tax, statutory reporting, payroll obligations, and HQ reporting.
- Prepare annual statutory financial statements and notes under NCIF.
- Prepare and submit consolidation of monthly reporting to HQ using Oracle GFS/FCCS within the Day+5 deadline.
- Ensure proper application of exchange rate rules for financial reporting (National Customs rules).
- Guarantee full compliance with tax requirements: Income Tax (Impuesto de Renta) annual return, IVA filings, compensations, etc.
- Calculate, validate tax provisions and deferred tax calculations under NCIF.
- Coordinate with tax advisors, regional tax, and HQ Tax on fiscal interpretations and compliance.
- Maintain compliance with National Customs filings and electronic logs.
- Ensure compliance with Transfer Pricing obligations (Local File, Master File, Informative return).
- Validate intercompany charges, shared services, management fees, and cost‑plus margins.
- Lead annual external audit and statutory review processes, ensuring audit readiness.
- Coordinate internal audit visits (LARO / HQ) and follow up on findings.
- Maintain robust internal control environment aligned with regional and HQ internal audit.
- Enforce segregation of duties and HQ Delegation of Authority (DoA).
